PUM 2204 is an F1 hybrid pumpkin in Zinbioseed's vegetable seed range. As an F1 hybrid it grows vigorously and uniformly, giving an even, dependable crop.

Pumpkin — bí đỏ — is valued for its sweet, dense flesh, rich in beta-carotene, and used in soups, stews and desserts. Mature fruit stores well for weeks, giving growers flexibility in when they sell.

Growing guide

  1. BedsMake raised, well-drained beds, work in well-rotted manure (and lime on acidic soils) and lay plastic mulch to keep weeds down and moisture in.
  2. SowingSoak the seed for 4–6 hours, then sow 1–2 seeds per hole about 2 cm deep, or raise seedlings in trays and transplant them at the first true leaf.
  3. VinesLet the vines run over mulch or straw and cover a few nodes with soil to encourage extra roots.
  4. PollinationHand-pollinate in the early morning if bees are scarce: pumpkin flowers close by midday.
  5. HarvestHarvest when the rind is hard, the colour has fully developed and the stalk has turned corky, then cure the fruit in a dry, shaded place.
